His two daughters now, 13 and 9 miss their father every moment of their day. Both girls are doing well in school. Sami excels at basketball and academics in school. Lacy struggles with being different at school, having no father. Sami Jo had four extra years with her dad, and has many more memories to comfort her. Lacy has gone through many hard times, but she is improving, and will continue to do so with time.
As for his wife Vicki, she has had to stop teaching, as it became too hard to return to not only the same life, in the same profession, as before Scott’s death. Vicki, a classroom teacher received the call during lunch break at her school. After his death, she tried to return to school, but emotionally was unable to do so.
She has entered college, and is currently working on a Masters degree of Education. This will enable her to stay in the education field, but change professions, and locations, as well as give her room for advancement for later years.
The family is active in sports, traveling, and horseback riding. Scott has left a loving legacy that they plan to continue even is his absence. Scott built his house and his family on a strong foundation. His family will survive and continue without him, so that we can see him once more. They are determined to make Scott proud.
